DOG!

We are dogsitting for a week, and the Bumble is enamored. The first thing she does when she wakes up for the day or from a nap is crawl around to find the dog. Then she points, waves, or claps and exclaims DOG! Yes, her first word (after "mama" and "dada" of course.) She also says "Tuh!- thhhhhhhh" when we talk about brushing teeth, but it far less consistant than DOG!

you are spoiled, i know!

TWO messy bjaby-face posts in ONE week!

I let Bumble feed herself her lunchtime yogurt. She started out using a spoon...

But soon she discovered a more efficient way.

Creepy crawly

I'm computering!!

Las night Bumble freaked out Mike by sleep-crawling over to him, waking him up, and then sitting up and swaying back and forth. Creeeeepy baaaaaaby.

Mmmm COOKIE

The Bumble doesn't really get what shaking your head "no" means, but she does know when to expect to see it. It's kind of frustrating yet endearing to see her grinning at you, shaking her head "no," and then smacking the TV screen.

She's having a much better week so far. She got a COOKIE!

Also, we started a lovely midmorning ritual of feeding squirrels and birds on the front porch, and she loves watching them breakfast. She points and babbles and squeals and giggles, and it's a pretty great way to start the morning.

Worst week cont.

Sorry, kiddo. These things happen when you insist on being held while your mother is trying to work on the mural.

Boosday

It's only Tuesday and it's been a bad week for babies.

The Bee has a cold, laryngitis, and a rattling cough. She is teething hardcore. Her mother rudely closed the refrigerator door on her head. She had to have a BATH. The cookie she found under the couch got TAKEN AWAY. She's not allowed to climb on ANYTHING! Commence meltdown.

:P

She is kiiiiiinda waving. She uses both hands and I don't think she understands what it means. Ditto shaking her head "no." But she is very pleased when she does these things, oh yes.

Other new interests include whispering secrets to me about "dada," dancing, crawling races, and using her sippy cup with pride. Not very well, but with lots of pride nevertheless.
